On the evening of November 30th, the closing ceremony of the 12th National Ethnic Traditional Sports Games was held at the Sanya Sports Center in Hainan Province.
At 20:00, 35 team flags and flag bearers entered the venue. 6960 athletes from various ethnic groups participated in 18 competition events and 170 performance events at this year's sports meet. This is a grand event of national unity, mass sports, and exchange and integration among various ethnic groups. The moments of athletes from various ethnic groups striving hard, exciting and enthusiastic competitions, colorful performances, sincere and friendly smiles flashed across the big screen, bringing together the classic and unforgettable memories of this year's sports meet.
In his speech, Gao Zhidan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Director of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Secretary of the Party Group, stated that during the exciting 9 days, the participating athletes bravely competed, selflessly volunteered, and participated widely from all walks of life. The exchange and integration of compatriots from all ethnic groups have created a new chapter. The sports meet is not only a sports field for athletes from all ethnic groups in the country to meet as friends, unite and cooperate, exchange and learn from each other, but also a meeting point for all ethnic groups to gather together and participate in the great event. We have shared the fruitful achievements of national unity and progress, as well as the cause of national fitness. Together, we have experienced the profound connotation and unique charm of traditional Chinese sports, deeply inherited the excellent traditional culture and sports spirit of China, and further strengthened the sense of community of the Chinese nation through this harmonious and beautiful sports event. Athletes from 35 delegations competed on the same field, not only competing in strength and skills, but also resonating with emotions and hearts, vividly interpreting the theme of the sports meet of "unity, progress, and sailing". The athlete representative presented flowers to the volunteers, and the whole audience erupted in applause. There are 7000 volunteers and nearly 10000 urban volunteers in this year's sports meet. They carry forward the spirit of volunteer service of "dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress", and have made important contributions to the smooth holding of the sports meet. The sports event is even more outstanding because of their dedication and contribution.
Under the gaze of people of all ethnic groups, the flag of the National Ethnic Minority Traditional Sports Games was slowly lowered, and the main torch, which had been burning for 9 days, was slowly extinguished. However, the flame of national unity will always burn and shine brightly.
